THE CHALLENGE
The Problem
Algeria's construction, maintenance, and real-estate services sector has no unified digital marketplace — skilled contractors and service providers have no reliable way to reach clients, and clients have no way to discover or vet local professionals across domains like construction, real estate, maintenance, or project management.
ENGINEERING APPROACH
My Approach
I designed and built Mokawil as a three-part product: a React Native mobile app (TypeScript) for end users, a React web admin panel for platform management, and an Express/MongoDB backend API with Socket.IO for real-time messaging. The mobile app supports three distinct user roles — guest, user, and professional — each with a tailored navigation experience. Professionals can publish service listings across multiple domains, receive reviews and verification badges, run promoted ads, and manage project leads. The admin panel handles user verification, post moderation, domain configuration, promotions, and platform analytics.
OUTCOME & IMPACT

The platform is fully functional and deployed in a test environment, covering the end-to-end workflow from user onboarding through service discovery, real-time messaging, and post moderation — with public launch planned after the test phase.
